The coffee, sandwiches, and pastries here are delicious. The carrot cake is INCREDIBLE. The employees are always friendly and helpful, and there are lots of comfy seats for dining in to relax and enjoy your beverage. Really glad I found this place - it's become one of my go-to places for coffee and breakfast on Sunday mornings. Tip: if you want to try one of their coffee specials but you don't like a super sweet coffee, you can ask them to make it less sweet for you.

I finally got the chance to try Sweets N’ Java, I had cappuccino and a chocolate croissant. The employees were nice and the croissant is so tasty.

You can’t beat local.... Kathy and her team are the best....Sweets N’ Java is truly the gathering place to go to! Armeno Coffee & made from scratch food!

Stopped in for a chocolate croissant. It came up less than $4, which is good, and my kid thought it was delicious and flakey (her words). Service was excellent, shop was clean and smelled amazing.

This coffee shop in the heart of Holden, MA is a true gem! Forget about the big box corporate coffee players like dunks and Starbucks...if you're in the area, this place is worth the visit. Every coffee I've had is prepared with exquisite attention to detail & friendly, personable service. With a wide array of sweets and sandwiches that are always changing and have a homemade touch, as well as their extensive coffee menu..you won't be disappointed!! Thanks for standing out and staying around in this day and age of homogenized, predictable and bland choices. ❤️

The service inside the building is absolutely amazing and their coffee Is 10,000 times better than any other place I've been to so far. However their website says they'll deliver locally but even if I put my address or the address of the building they will not deliver. Would recommend coffee shop to anyone however!

Big city quality with small town charm! I just moved here and was surprised not only by the quality of the food but the welcoming kindness of the staff too. I love the artist mugs, chill vibe, mocha lattes, and their unique pastries and food. The first time I went I had the most delicious breakfast sandwich that was freshly made. This last time, I got the Davis Hill sandwich made with Turkey, Gouda, and onion jam - delicious! Strongly recommend the mocha latte!

In a world of chain cafes, thank goodness Sweets & Java exists. The food and coffee is always great, and I'm especially fond of the assortment of pastries. What keeps me coming back is the atmosphere: authentic; human; defies the formulaic; the playlist is always A++ eclectically wonderful.

Sweets & Java in Holden is such a gem for coffee lovers. Their iced and hot latte flavors are amazing, with creative seasonal options that make you want to keep coming back to try something new. One of my absolute favorite touches is that they offer coffee ice cubes year-round — no watered-down iced coffee here, and it truly makes a difference. Their chocolate croissant is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly flaky, beautifully designed, and finished with a light powdered sugar dusting — it looks as incredible as it tastes. You can tell care goes into it. The shop itself is warm and inviting, with plenty of comfortable indoor seating and limited outdoor seating for nicer days, making it a great place to sit and enjoy your drink. The breakfast items haven’t been my personal favorite, but the lunch sandwiches are solid and definitely worth trying. Overall, it’s a must-visit for specialty drinks and that unforgettable chocolate croissant.
